  • Strategic Planning

SCORE provides strategic planning facilitation using a process and toolkit called SPIN (Strategic Planning in Nonprofits) developed by Washington Nonprofits. A state association for all nonprofits, Washington Nonprofits makes sure nonprofits have what they need to succeed through learning, advocacy, and collaboration.

The SPIN process covers six planning elements: preparing, listening, envisioning, planning, executing, and evaluating. It anchors each unit in why it matters and provides helpful tools for developing each element of the plan.

A SCORE mentor experienced in nonprofit leadership will customize the process to fit your needs and work with the staff and board members of your organization to complete each planning element and assemble the final plan.

At the end of the process your organization will have a plan that articulates its most critical challenges and opportunities, identifies the strategies necessary to address them, sets annual goals, and contains a specific plan of action for implementation.

Here is what people have to say about SCORE's strategic planning services:

"We now have a structure in place to update our organization’s plan on a yearly basis as we work to meet our goals. As a group, we feel empowered to establish action steps to work toward set goals."

"This will strengthen our organization structurally allowing a greater outreach to achieve our mission."

"The process was well thought out, easy to understand, encouraged a sense of participation, and brought together an extremely workable plan for our organization."
